In this Together / Be in the Present by Peter Francis Laxalt

We were commissioned to fill up the walls of the Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard for A&E’s annual staff meeting. A&E wanted to communicate their newest brand values and wanted us to fill up ALL of the walls of a giant warehouse space. The catch was that we only had a couple of days to execute it. One of their staff members happened to have a brush script hand-style similar to the way i draw so we figured that would be the simplest and most effective solution we could that we could pull off in a rush.

It was the diffuse afternoon light that attracted Pia Ulin to her north-facing loft in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy. “I love the light: I see the sky, a church, and the Empire State Building from my windows. The orientation also means the rooms don’t get very hot,” says the star interiors photographer, who not coincidentally grew up in the north of Sweden and uses only natural light in her work.
