Born in Stockholm and based in Barcelona, Petra took a journey via Dublin and Malta on her way to becoming an illustrator.

This detached house is located in the upper area of Barcelona . The project proposed to move the building to the back of the site in order to achieve the best orientations to the south and east, and to have a generous garden. In addition, the development of the house from the highest point of the land gets the best views of the sea, to the city of Barcelonaand also to the Collserola mountain range. Its proximity to a ring road required a formal solution to noise pollution. Estudio BC resolved it in the house, arranging a wooden skin formed by vertical slats, which covers the rear and side facade, and at the edge of the plot, by means of a green wall-talud that reinforces the protection against noise.

The project is based on a single family house and a warehouse in a plot between party walls, surrounded by high-rise buildings that make it difficult to obtain natural light and a comfortable relationship with the environment. Another important aspect is the fact that the only street that gives access to the site is very noisy, with a maximum decibel level according to regulations.
