The county of Yakima, in the state of Washington, is a territory characterized by its large number of fruit orchards. Here is the new headquarters of the Washington Fruit & Produce Company, a family property founded in 1916 that grows and distributes fruits from the northwestern United States to the rest of the world. Work of the Seattle studio Graham Baba Architect Team, the set adopts an L-shape, organized around a landscaped courtyard conceived as a refuge from noise, which is delimited by walls and mounds of earth that hide the industrial environment. The project evokes an aged barn and seeks to capture the essence of agricultural aesthetics through an exposed wooden structure. Opposing the glass facade, while allowing large lights,
