Why finding your own truth is the most important path you will ever walk

When I was in law school, teachers used to employ the Socratic method a lot. Typically, the professor would ask questions and call on students to answer it. Or when a student asked a question, rather than answering it (that would be too easy hu?) the professor would turn to the class stimulating debate and discussion. What do you think ? He would ask. This method was wildly used to enable students to develop their critical thinking and discover their own true belief about a certain topic. The most interesting thing about this way of questioning was that usually we would discover more than only one right answer, and often no clear answer at all.
